Muslim Women Navigating Theology, Ethics, and Society 2026

Jadal Women’s Research Dialogue (Jadal) explored how Muslim women had shaped society and contributed to theology and ethics from the inception of Islam to the present day, focusing on contemporary applications of such studies. We welcomed scholars and practitioners to explore the various dimensions of women’s involvement, whether as theologians, scholars, ethicists, or social agents.

Muslim Women in Public Life: History, Debates and Realities 2025

Jadal was divided into three days:

 

  • Day One: focused on understanding Muslim women’s public participation historically.

  • Day Two: explored contemporary transformations through colonialism and modernity and the engagement of Muslim women.

  • Day Three: looked to the future to address both the challenges and opportunities for Muslim women’s public participation.
