Attendance is restricted to women only, and open to academics, researchers, professionals, and students with a keen interest in the history, debates, and lived realities of Muslim women in public life. We welcome participants from diverse fields who can contribute to and benefit from the discussions and networking opportunities.
Jadal will take place at Al-Mujadilah Center & Mosque for Women, which is in Education City, Doha, Qatar. The venue is easily accessible by car and bus. Detailed directions can be found on our website.
Yes for speakers, accommodation and an economy flight ticket will be covered.
If you would like your paper to be considered for edited volume and honorarium of (3,000 Qatari Riyals), then you need to submit your paper in advance.
English and Arabic, and we will have live translation.
We want to create a space for meaningful exchange of ideas and thus the capacity for Jadal will be no more than 100 speakers/attendees.
Jadal is the annual gathering for Al-Mujadilah which is a Mosque and Center for Muslim women.
